Do you enjoy working with plants and combining your knowledge with the latest technologies to achieve the best cultivation results?
Are you an experienced cultivation specialist, or someone eager to further develop your skills in the field? Then we would love to meet you.

At SlijkermanKalanchoë, we manage the entire process — from breeding to the final product — in-house. You will be working at a 6-hectare nursery, where quality, efficiency, and sustainable cultivation are key priorities.

Working Environment

You will work in a modern greenhouse environment equipped with advanced technologies such as LED lighting, sensors, and climate control computers. Our cultivation includes both highly automated departments and areas where practical cultivation knowledge and daily hands-on work are essential. This combination offers plenty of variety and opportunities to contribute to further innovation.

What will you do?

Depending on your experience and ambitions, you will be given responsibility and the freedom to shape your role. Your tasks may include:

• Monitoring and optimizing climate settings, irrigation, and LED lighting (Priva)
• Working with modern greenhouse automation systems such as Bosman Van Zaal
• Contributing ideas for nutrition recipes and cultivation improvements
• Taking responsibility for (biological) crop protection
• Using camera technology, sensors, and AI to predict plant growth

Whether you are just starting your career or already have years of experience, we will work together to define a role that suits you.

Who are we looking for?

Above all, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm for plants and a curious mindset toward cultivation and technology. Do you recognize yourself in (part of) the following?

• MBO or HBO level of working and thinking in horticulture or plant cultivation
• Interest in sustainable and innovative greenhouse horticulture
• Eager to learn and proactive in thinking about improvements
• Experience with climate control, LED lighting, or production processes is a plus
• Experience with Kalanchoë is an advantage, but certainly not a requirement
• A crop protection license is preferred (or willingness to obtain one)

You don’t need to know everything already — motivation and passion are just as important to us.
